Day Lists

Day Lists

From the Files menu, choose Day Lists.

A "day list" is used to tell the system which clocks to use for each hour of the day.  You may create different day lists for each different "type" of day that your station may have. If all seven days of the week were exactly the same on your station, you would need only one day list. More likely, you'll need several to fit different types of scheduling.

Example:
Here are some possibilities for different day-lists:
1)  Weekdays
2)  Weekends
3)  "Count-Down" Day (no clocks during "count-down" program hours, and one hour with no Power-Currents following the program)
4)  Play-by-play Sports day (no clocks during game hours)
5)  Weekdays with Christmas Music

Day List Selection Screen:

You'll see a browse window listing all day lists that have already been built.  Notice that those day lists which are scheduled to be used for creating playlists are marked in the "On Air" column with the day(s) of the week in which the list will be used.  Change days in this column by clicking On-Air (see below).

To select a day list for editing, double click on the day list number, or highlight your selection and press {Enter}.  You'll be taken to the Build-Day Lists screen.

Push Buttons...

Edit Name:
Click Edit Name to change the name or description of the highlighted day list.

Add:
Click Add to create a new day list from scratch.

Print:
Prints a listing of all day list names, numbers and their "on-air" status.

Delete:
Move the light-bar to a day list and click Delete to remove an existing clock. Be careful not to delete a day list that is used for on-air scheduling.  If you do, you will not be permitted to exit the day lists selection screen until you have scheduled a day list for use on-air for every day of the week.

Copy:
You can easily create a new day list that is nearly the same as an existing list. Move the light-bar to the day list you want to use as a basis for the new one, and click Copy. This copies the highlighted day list to a new slot.

On-Air:
You will assign which day-lists to use on-air by clicking On-Air. To assign a day list to a certain day of the week, highlight the name of the day-list and click On-Air. Select the weekday to use that list. You must assign one day list to each of the seven days. You may assign multiple days to one list.

Build Day Lists Screen:

When you add or edit a day-list, you'll assign a format clock to each hour of the day. You'll be given 24 hours to schedule. In each hour's box, enter the number of the clock to be used in that hour. If you don't need 24 hours of playlists, enter {0} for the clock number in the hours where nothing is to be scheduled.

View or Edit Format Clock:
You may double-click on the clock number to view or edit the format clock for that hour.

Repeat Hours:
Some stations like to repeat a full hour of music from a prime daypart in an overnight daypart. To use the same hour twice, press {F2} when highlighting the hour where the music will be reused. You'll be asked what hour to re-use. Note that the re-used music hour will be listed as-is. All attribute, artist, and previous days' conflict checking applies only to the original music hour, not the repeated hour.
