Technical Specifications:  RDS

Using RDS Phantom Digital Automation

RDS assigns a unique file name on your hard drive to each audio event. For all sources other then "V", the file name becomes the first eight characters of "BBBSSSSCC" where "BBB" is the Bin, "SSSS" is the Source Number and "CC" is the Cut number. Notice that you could enter up to nine characters if you use all fields, but Phantom will only use the first eight. You may leave any combination of the three fields (Bin, Source No., Cut) blank and the blanks will be ignored.

Voice Tracking:

For "V" Source Events (intros and outros), the file name will become the letter "V", followed by the first two letters of the day of the week, followed by a four digit number which corresponds to the time the Voice-Over is scheduled (in military time). For example a Voice-Over scheduled on Monday at 12:01 PM would be recorded on the hard drive in a file named "VMO1201", Tuesday at 1:11 AM would be "VTU0111". For events with Source of "V", any "Source Number" or "Bin" entered by the user will be ignored and replaced with the above data.

Technical Information:

1) The daily playlists are output to the user selected path as "?mmddyy.MUS" where ? is "A" if "AM" is included in your call letters and is "F" otherwise. "mmddyy" is month, date, and year of the playlist.

2) The log file is a standard ASCII Standard Data Format text files with one record per line. Records are delimited by CR/LF, fields are delimited by spaces (position dependant).

Log File Structure:

Column: Width: Data:
1 9 At top of each hour: ">" + Scheduled Air Time,
For each slot in hour: Audio File Name (Bin+ Source No.+ Cut) (see above)
