From the Utilities menu, choose Options.
This section provides several miscellaneous options for creating your playlists
and general system operation. There are four page tabs: General,
Scheduling, Playlist and Rotations.
Use Day-of-Month Voice Tracking?
For intros and outros, click the check-box to cause MusicMix to insert
day-of-month voice track numbers (V01, V02, etc.) rather than day-of-week
numbers (VMO, VTU, etc.) as it does by default. (See
Voice Tracking).
Show back-up reminders:
If you haven’t backed-up within MusicMix lately, a reminder widow pops up at
system start-up. Some stations have external back-up regimens and don't use the
one inside MusicMix. The reminder message then becomes a nuisance. You may turn
it off here.
Show four digit years:
You may choose to enter four digits (i.e. 2000) for the year in places in the
system where date calculations occur (reports, logs, scheduling). Even without
using four-digit years, the system will normally apply two digit years greater
than 70 to the 1900s and less than 70 to the 2000s. If you want even greater
control, you may turn on four digit years to allow entry of the specific dates.
Disable left zero pad for source and cut numbers:
Normally MusicMix adds zeros to the left of a number if it is fewer than 4
digits in source or 2 digits in cut. For example, if you enter a source of 60,
MusicMix changes it to 0060. If you enter a cut of 1, MusicMix changes it to 01.
If this feature is disabled, MusicMix always leaves Source and Cut numbers just
as you enter them. This is sometimes necessary for those digital audio systems
which use a combination of source and cut numbers as audio filenames, and you do
not wish to add zeros within the input.
Same source back-to-back:
If your station uses CDs or other music media which does not allow playing two
songs from the same source number back to back, you must indicate that option
here.
Disable time-jogs:
MusicMix has a feature called Time-Jog which attempts to keep a title from
playing in the same or adjacent hour to any hour where it has recently played.
This is nice for balance, but can make scheduling take much longer. If you want
to speed things up, disable time jogs here. You can also change time jog setting
in rotations for each category. (See Rotations)
Number of days to hold titles in music history:
The number of days titles should be held depends on two criteria:
1) How far back would you like to be able to see airplay history?
2) How many days back would you like the system to check for Previous Day protections?
Multiple of search depth:
This setting is used for those format clock slots where a specific attribute is forced (see
Format Clocks). You may want to allow the system to "dig"
deeper into a rotation, thus improving the chance of playing the attribute being
forced. The number you enter will be multiplied by the normal "depth" for the
rotation in question. To allow only normal search depths with forced attributes,
enter 1.0.
Example:
You are forcing an "Up-Tempo" Power-Gold at the top of the hour. You have set the normal Power-Gold search depth at 10 songs. A search depth multiple of 2.0 would allow searching through 20 songs to find the "Up-Tempo"
Do not schedule source ___:
This is useful if, for example, a CD player is down. Select this one, and
MusicMix skips all titles loaded in that machine when scheduling.
Truncate artists and titles on playlists:
If your playlist columns are narrower than the full width of artist and title
names, MusicMix normally spreads a long name over two or more lines in the
column. If you do not want this behavior (to save paper perhaps) click the
check-box
to truncate down to the column width.
Line spacing:
By default playlists are printed single spaced. Here, you may designate double
or triple spacing if you wish.
Rotation screen stats:
At the bottom of the rotation screen, you'll see predicated music repetition for
each category based on a seven-day 24-hour schedule. If you’d like to see those
statistics for some other schedule instead, set it up here. You may force
MusicMix to show those stats for only certain days of the week and only certain
dayparts.
