From the Schedule menu, choose Edit Playlist or click the large Edit Playlist button.
Many music scheduling programs require editing the playlist after scheduling to take care of the blanks they leave behind when protection rules can't be met. MusicMix never leaves blanks and many MusicMix stations use the playlist just as the computer prepares it. Still, you may wish to do some fine tuning after scheduling is completed, but before the playlist is used on air.
Replace:
To remove a title and replace it with a different one, highlight the title you
want to remove and click Replace. You'll see a title selection box ordered by
rotation. Within each rotation, titles are arranged from most-rested to
least-rested. The initially highlighted song will be the most rested title in
the rotation scheduled. Move the highlight to the title you wish to insert. Double-click on the title
to schedule it in place of the previously scheduled title.
Flip:
Click Flip to exchange positions of the current title with the one above it.
It's a very quick way to resolve a back to back music flow you don't like.
Move:
You'll be asked for a time. The highlighted title will be rescheduled at the
time you enter.
Find:
A quick way to move to a different item on the playlist.
Delete:
You may remove a title from the playlist without replacing it.
Add:
You'll enter a time to add a new title or program event and see a selection list of your entire
inventory. Double-click on the item you want to
add. It's an easy solution to adding voice-tracks after a schedule has already
been run and your jock calls in sick.
Stats:
You can get a quick look at the airplay history for the currently
highlighted title or event, and you can examine statistics reflecting an
overview of the day's playlist. Title counts are available for the number of times each
artist, event or rotation category is scheduled on the playlist you're editing.
You can also get counts broken down by each of your attributes. (How many
up-tempo, medium-tempo, slow-tempos are scheduled on this date?) Click
Stats, then select
the type of count you want.
Sort Order:
Normally a playlist is sorted by time... in the order items will playback in the
schedule. You can get answers to music flow questions by looking at a day's
playlist in a different order:
All editing options remain
available no matter which order is selected. The "Find" option will move you to
the selected Time, Artist, or Rotation Category depending on the order chosen.
Edit Title/Event:
As you are editing the playlist, you may notice that a title or program event has an incorrect
attribute, length or other data. Click the Edit Title/Event page tab to view
(and change if you wish) full detail for the currently highlighted item.
(See: Edit Title Details and
Program Events)
If you have checked "Log Files" in Create Playlist, you will have the
option to create a new log file when you exit Edit Playlists. If you do
not create the log file, any changes to the playlist you've made will not be
passed on to the automation system.
